In this week’s installment of the Geothermal Fact and Stat campaign, we take a macro look at the total geothermal power production online as of January 2018. This does not take into account projects that have gone online since January or anything close to commisioning. Here is a link to an article published on Think Geo Energy that lists the Top 10 Countries producing geothermal power.

There are 14,060 MW online producing clean, baseload geothermal power. See this Geo Fact and Stat to see where those MW’s are online!

Indonesia and East Africa seem to be poised for the most growth and potential of geothermal power in the near future, with Turkey showing no signs of slowing down and Chile as one of several countries with the most potential and the least developed.
